DocuStream was founded in 1998 as a forms processing software company, but our roots go back to the early 1990s. That's when we worked on many large scanning and forms processing applications for corporate and government clients.
DocuStream's early mission was to automate the extraction of data from paper forms. By the early 2000s, we began to focus on the healthcare field, specializing in the processing of HCFA-1500, UB92 (now UB04), EOB, and MRN forms, among many others. We began offering our claims processing as a service, and built a loyal client base of insurance companies, health plans, TPAs, and unions. Today DocuStream processes over 60,000 claims per day, in both paper and electronic formats.
Many competitors have come and gone in the intervening decade. In that time, DocuStream has grown on a simple premise: offer greater value to the customer. We can be better, faster, and cheaper because our workflow balances cutting-edge automation with old-fashioned human quality control to achieve the highest accuracy and speed at the lowest possible cost.
